Local Tablers continue to be pro-active in supporting local community initiatives
The members of Banbridge Round Table have been supporting local community initiatives for almost 50 years, and on Saturday, they continued in this spirit when they provided local charity Angling First with secure storage for their site in Dromore, following the break-in at the site and the theft of thousands of pounds worth of equipment.
Table Chairman Dave Travers said “As an organisation we have always tried to live up to our unofficial motto – “we don’t just sit there”, and when we heard about the robbery at Angling First, a charity which does tremendous work with disadvantaged kids, we decided we would help.”
Of course, the simplest and easiest thing to do would have been to write a cheque for the charity, but the Tablers in Banbridge are not afraid to get their hands dirty, so they contacted Gary Wallace of Walcon Containers and office Units based at the Corbet, who agreed to supply and deliver a secure container at below cost price.
The Tablers then contacted Brian McCarten of Yellowhill Group Plant and Machinery Sales, who agreed to supply a LoadAll for manoeuvering the container into position, and Gibson Brothers, Banbridge, who supplied a Low- Loader to bring the LoadAll on site. The Tablers then met at the Angling First venue in Dromore and delivered the secure container to its final position on site.
Banbridge Round Table would like to thank everyone involved for the assistance they provided in this project.
